Dear Waverly Families,
We were so excited to launch this new fundraiser this year! For those students who participated, we have launched a submission form to collect participation information and applicable donations.
For students who did not participate but have time to do so now that school is not meeting in person, we are giving you a second chance.
Here’s how it works: Starting today, your child can secure pledges from friends and family. Sponsors can pledge a per-minute amount or a flat donation. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. (Waverly PTA Tax ID: 52-1686461)
Your child will set a minimum reading goal. Minutes are counted (rather than books), in order to make this fair for readers at every level. For ten days between now and May 22, your child will read and record their minutes each day using the Minute Recording Sheet.
When the reading period ends, your child will tally up their minutes and collect applicable pledge money from sponsors. A parent then needs to fill out the online submission form and submit applicable donations.
Everyone who participates and turns in their forms by the due date of May 22 will be eligible to win individual and class prizes. Participants who meet minimum requirements will be entered into a drawing to win a four-pack of Hersheypark Tickets. (Hersheypark has announced that they plan to honor tickets through June 30, 2021.)
Submissions and money collected after May 22 will be accepted, but not counted towards the individual and class prizes.
Be sure to go over the rules with your children so that they know what kinds of reading minutes count—homework reading counts!
Let’s have fun and READ!
